Long-time followers and new fans alike will never forget the two-hour musical event KANSAS brings to The Smith Center, which will feature songs from a total of 10 of the band’s albums. This epic show will include new songs debuted off KANSAS’ latest album, “The Prelude Implicit,” and will culminate with the album “Leftoverture” performed in its entirety, in sequence.
With a legendary career spanning more than four decades, KANSAS has firmly established itself as one of America’s iconic classic rock bands, known for mammoth hits including its Gold singles, “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Dust in the Wind.”
Selling more than 30 million albums worldwide, KANSAS has played to sold-out arenas and stadiums throughout North America, Europe and Japan. Still constantly touring, the band remains a fixture of classic rock radio, with many songs featured in hit TV shows, films and video games.
Building on this legacy, 2016 marks the release of “The Prelude Implicit,” KANSAS’ fifteenth studio album. The wide-ranging, progressive rock album marks the band’s first studio album release in 16 years. Rolling Stone hailed that the album “echoes of everything Kansas has been – heartland prog-rock group, the rowdy bar band, the group with the chart hits.”
KANSAS, which is currently comprised of original drummer Phil Ehart, bassist/vocalist Billy Greer, keyboardist David Manion, vocalist/keyboardist Ronnie Platt, violinist/guitarist David Ragsdale, guitarist Zak Rizvi, and original guitarist Richard Williams, continues to perform in front of large and enthusiastic audiences around the world.
